Who we are
Willkommen! My name is Michael Meskill. My Great Great Grandfather, Amandus Stehling, was one of the founding Fredericksburg German pioneers. He emigrated from Germany (along with his brother George Franz Stehling) and arrived in Fredericksburg in January 1847, eight months after the first German pioneers arrived in Fredericksburg in May 1846. Christian Stehling, one of his eight children, is my Great Grandfather. Christian Stehling introduced electricity to Fredericksburg. He built a limestone house in the historic district in 1899. This house was the first in Fredericksburg with Christmas lights! This house also owned and displayed an original Herman Lungkwitz painting (which was sold back to the Lungkwitz family in the 1980s). We still own and cherish this beloved home! We love Fredericksburg and its rich history and architecture, and want to share that love with you!
